Vegetarian or non- vegetarian, would fish dishes as part of the vegetarian menu of a restaurant cause you to?
Emile Okafor: yes, vegetarianYou are, of course, taking this question completely out of context from its original questionnaire just becuase you didn't like what you read and are trying to rebuff it in some way.judging by the answers so far, you have failed....Show more
Pasty Cobbett: They would be offended and never return, while at the same time still complaining that there are so few vegetarian restaurants.
Keven Woodington: This is a delicious, easy recipe and that was a good deal on the ramekins! (Use a muffin tin for the mixture leftover from filling the ramekins.)Pecan Tartlets 2 spray(s) cooking spray 3 large egg(s) 1/8 tsp table salt 1 tbsp butter, melted 1/3 cup(s) dark corn syrup 2/3 cup(s) dark brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/3 cup(s) chopped pecans 24 half pecan halvesInstructions Preheat oven to 450ºF. Place twelve 3-ounce ramekins in a shallow baking pan or on a rimmed cookie sheet for easy handling; coat ramekins with cooking spray. In ! a medium bowl, beat eggs with salt. Add melted butter, corn syrup, sugar and vanilla; beat well. Blend in chopped pecans and then spoon batter half way up ramekins; gently place 2 pecan halves on top of each ramekin. Bake for about 17 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350ºF and bake until a knife or toothpick inserted in center of a ramekin comes out clean, about 15 to 20 minutes more. Remove from oven and allow to cool; serve in ramekins with a spoon, either warm or cold....Show more
Thurman Buege: Vegetarians do NOT eat fish.
Arlene Maycumber: Is a food's being genetically modified that big a deal or a health concern? Do they do it so they can fill it full of pesticides and herbicides (that the plant supposedly resists) and if they do, does it make the plant more carcinogenic and unhealthy? What about the produce in stores? Is that genetically modified too? If I grow my own vegetables (and maybe fruits), and someone sprays pesticide on all of it, isn't it t! he equivalent of store bought foods or is it better because th! e sprayer knows what's on it?...Show more
Clemente Schoeck: Well, it would make me suspicious of the other items on their vegetarian menu, since it would be clear they didn't know the meaning of the word vegetarian. If they offered fish as a vegetarian option, who knows what non-vegetarian ingredients they might put in other 'vegetarian' dishes. For example they might offer roast vegetables that had been roasted with the meat.So... I wouldn't kick up a fuss, but I wouldn't go back...Show more
Maria Devenney: Katrina-didn't answer what I asked.
Palmira Lochridge: I'm vegan but I wouldn't stop going there because of that. Some vegetarians still eat fish so it's not out of the question for a vegetarian restaurant to serve fish. It would also make it easier to bring non-vegetarian friends out to eat, they would feel less alienated.
Pam Rampadarat: Our family is having an easter get together tomorrow and i want to make a dessert/pastry to take with me. ! the thing is i want something thats both VEGAN AND SUGAR-FREE. im having a hard time trying to find a good recipe so i was wondering if anyone new some or had any other suggestions. Let me just say that im not going to make a pie or large cake or anything because i know a lot of other people will be bringing such things. Im looking more for recipes that are for cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.(small things......oh and nothing liquidy like pudding or ice-cream). Thank you so much....Show more
Emilie Santmyer: My local craft store was having a sale on Valentines stuff and I manage to snag two small, heart-shaped ramekins to bake in for a dollar a piece. (Such a steal!)I was wondering if there was in recipes for vegetarian mini tarts or mini pies that I could cook in them?
Raven Purl: Absolutely!.....I have gone back to Bistro 60 in the in the city(NYC) just for their seabass....It was great! I am a 'pescatarian'....which just means that the only meat I consume is! fish.
Magda Vandergriend: I've never been to a restaurant that d! id this, but if I did, I'd just tell them that fish dishes don't belong on the vegetarian menu.
Somer Distilo: i AM a vegetarian.it would kinda make no sense for a restaurant to have fish in their menu seeing as fish IS meat.. ahah, well anyways i probably wouldn't go back to the restaurant honestly.
Chi Alfero: I'm vegetarian. Have been for 10 years. And it would annoy me. It would mean they have no grasp of what being vegetarian is. I saw it all over Eastern Europe when I went a few years back. But they were trying, so I really couldn't get mad.
Sang Hanafin: What's wrong with a gorgeous fruit platter? It will be a nice relief from all the over-processed, simple-sugar crap!
Darnell Cutliff: Using vegan phyllo dough you could make baklava w/agave syrup instead of honey. For something more savory- samosas.
Lillie Yarde: I am not a vegetarian myself, and even I would have an issue with any kind of meat (even if it is 'just fish') being served as ! part of a vegetarian menu.I would think also that this could get the restaurant owner in some trouble for false advertising. If someone lives the vegetarian lifestyle, they would expect a restaurant claiming to be 'vegetarian' to be just that....Show more
Olin Hallin: That depends on the quality of the rest of the food. If they actually had decent (meaning, of course, non-seafood) vegetarian options, then I would return. I would, however, send an email to the management informing them of their error.
Robin Marchione: I wouldnt want to eat at that restaurant simply because if they think fish is vegetarian then goodness knows what they've put in the other non-fish vegetarian dishes. Fish sauce, oyster sauce, wine or beer, gelatine, margerine containing animal ingredients. Maybe they cooked them in the same dishes or same oil as the fish. And they probably use battery eggs and non-vegetarian cheese. If they had a separate pescatarian menu or fish menu then t! hat would be fine....Show more

Cordia Fivecoat: Hm probably. I would rather just eat somewhere else, than explain to the owner of a restaurant what vegetarian is.
Hobert Dula: michael-what are you blathering on about? My question is from this:"60% of the NON-vegetarian respondents would NOT return to a restaurant that included fish dishes on its vegetarian menu."How have I taken it out of context??...Show more
Leontine Kreitz: I am a confirmed meat inclusive eater And that statement does not influence me on! e way or another.
Marylee Lucks: They say they don't use GMO stuff but not 100% sure of their claims, they used to use organic soybeans and now they have stopped so who knows. However I am 1000000% sure they are owned by Dean Foods. Dean Foods is the largest dairy producer in the country, they are essentially a monopoly and are trying to buy up all the small family farms and turn it into their mass milk death camp (which screws over the farmer as well as the cow) In one of their facilities had KKK graffiti and nooses in another facility they were caught keeping I think over 20,000 cows in an unhygenic feed lot (which is pretty typical of the animal abuse industry) of course Dean said "this isn't happening" and I doubt anything has come of it! However they made $12.5 Billion in 2008 for their cow torture and murder and shady business. I would avoid them if you can. GMO's are potentially a health concern because they are not natural and what is not natural tends not too! really be good for your body so it is best too avoid them. They can pr! etty much modify it so it resists natural processes and diseases and it could make the plant more likely to pick up bad stuff. Anything that is supposed to have a seed and says seedless is going to be GMO, so watermelon and grapes tend to be out in most places. I have been on a quest too find a seeded watermelon because I miss the childhood days of spitting seeds from a juicy watermelon and after a few years still haven't found one in my area. Your best bet is too try and find organic stuff that has seeds and hope it isn't GMO but due to companies like Monsanto who hire thugs too make sure that farmers use their GMO seed every year and don't store it, it is hard to get non GMO except from local CSA and community gardens. If you grow your own vegetables nobody should be able to spray anything on it and if they do you report them for trespassing and property damage. Put up a fence if you need too but if you can grow your own I would recommend it as a great thing. The one real! ly good thing about WW2 was the victory gardens (they didn't knock of the Nazis till millions and millions had died, they didn't stop Pearl Harbor, the racism in the military...) it was a way for the people to get together and grow their own food and come together as a community taking power away from mega corporations and putting into the hands of the people. Here are some links to help out with the GMO stuff and community gardens:http://www.raw-wisdom.com/50harmful.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetically_modified_...http://www.non-gmoreport.com/disadvantages_GM_food...http://www.urbangardeninghelp.com/http://www.communitygarden.org/http://www.guerrillagardening.org/http://www.wikihow.com/Start-Guerilla-Gardening...Show more

Annabell Bevier: I'm a vegetarian and as long as it said on! the menu that there is fish included in it would not be upset. Vegetarian is a very vauge term, it means vegan, pescotarian, lacto-ovo, all sorts. So the restaurant was probably just making acomidations to all of it's custormers.
Kirk Coolbeth: I am a vegetarian i don't eat anything that had a face :)So that includes fish!xo
Esteban Lyson: In America they probably are GMO. In europe they have to label GMO foods but not america.Same with all foods in the greengrocers- they'll all be umped up to make bigger food.Growing your own will always be better because you can see what's on it.Think about it- the supermarkets need to make cheapest food possible, they could spray it with thirty things, why would they hold back? As long as the food grow as quick as possible and they have as few die from bugs as possible they would literally do anything, including people, to get that food right??If you want to get scared read this]http://www.seattlepi.com/local/349263_pesticid! e30....that;'s just after a quick search...Show more
Darnell Cutliff: If they have a vegetarian menu AT ALL I would be impressed. If vegetarians are not happy with it they can tell the owners. I am sure they are at least trying if they have a vegetarian menu. But to not return, when the restaurant is a good one because of that is cutting your nose off to spite your face in my opinion. It doesn't accomplish anything. If you don't want fish, you don't order it....Show more

Anibal Scheid: Hi Dude =)No, it would not cause me to stop visiting the restaurant. It might annoy me, but I would definitely see that the restaurant is taking a step in the right direction by providing a few vegetarian menu options. I would kindly speak to the manager and/or owner and express my concern and educate them. From there, I would suggest some entrees- including some vegan meals.I'm an opinionated and outspoken consumer. I believe there's a positive, classy, and tactful way to be heard. Good business people listen and carry out consumers' suggestions when there are repeated requests. I urge vegans and vegetarians to continue voicing their wishes and concerns to eating establishments, grocers, and other retailers....Show more
