Thinking about becoming vegetarian?

Clifford Gombos: Seitan is good. Vegetarians eat no animals. Fish, shellfish, crustacean are animals so would not be vegetarian. Seaweed is vegetarian.

Madie Strople: WHY??! if you love chicken then why would you want to be a vegetarian?! although i think your crazy :) ill still try to help you out my mom is a vegetarian to and she eats a lot of fish (so no most vegetarians dont consider seafood eaters not true vegetarians .. although im sure some do) also theres a website called lightlife.com that sells a whole bunch of substitutes for meat .. theres veggie beef and chicken. im not sure exactly whats in them exactly but im sure the website will tell you the ingredients .. im not a vegetarian but i still think this stuff is pretty goodthere are also recipes for eating vegetarian .. and vegan on the websitetheres also tofu .... so i hope this helps and good luck ;)...Show more

Cyndy Grimes: I thought about it when I had food poisoning, but I couldn't afford! it and my body was getting too skinny and weak. When I got better I just stuck with the light meats

Marcelina Schossow: If you stopped eating chicken you wouldn't miss it - I don't try to substitute any kind of meat and I eat a far more varied diet now than I ever did as a meat eater. You can buy soy meat that is supposedly like chicken, I personally wouldn't touch the stuff but I know many vegetarians do and would no doubt better answer that question.Vegetarians are not vegetarians if they eat fish. People who eat fish only and no other meat are known as Pescatarians....Show more

Lynn Melbourne: QUorn, morningstar farms. There's other brands, but those two are good.Fish and sea animals are , well, animals. What did you think? Of course nobdy that eats animals of any type no matter if they come from a tre or the sea is considered a vegetarian. But watch out, there are some very very stupid people around who insist that fish is not meat. I would love to knock it! into them but that's against my rules of non violence.PS the ! MOrningstar Wings are pretty nice....Show more

Bethany Blocker: Seafood eaters are never vegetarians in the first place. A vegetarian is one who abstains form the consumption of any kind of animal meat. Instead of soy (which is processed and not good for health), you can use paneer as a chicken substitute. Its made of milk. Google for it.What's wrong with soy?Soy beans are naturally toxic to humans, but they're harmless when they go through a fermentation process, which is how we get tofu. But soy is being used in more and more things these days. Just look through your cabinet. You'll be surprised. Anyway, most companies aren't putting their soy beans through this process because it takes too much time, and time = money. Instead, they put it through a chemical process, but this rarely gets rid of the soy's toxicity completely. Symptoms of a high soy diet are thyroid problems, breast cancer, and other complications. People get these symptoms because the soy they ea! t isn't fermented.http://rheumatic.org/soy.htm...Show more

Rufus Plough: There are numerous fake versions out there that can mimic the taste quite well, to the point that meat-eaters are unaware or can only slightly tell a difference (few friends of mine who spotted it say it just tastes like chicken that isn't cooked the way they like it, maybe i just suck at making it)You also tend to go off meat after a while being vegetarian, for the first while it can suck but it gets easier. I loved seafood & chicken drumsticks, now though i miss the taste of them i do not feel the urge to eat them.BQ: Yes we do not consider them vegetarians at all. Somebody who eats fish is called a pescetarian, it is in no way related to vegetarianism as they eat slaughtered meat product. Many (omnivores & vegetarians) see it as a fancy title for a person who eats one type of meat over another, it is akin to semi-vegetarian/flexitarian/pollotarian.A pescetarian often describes themselves as ve! getarian because they are too lazy essentially to say in resturants etc! that they only eat seafood, thus the popular misconception that vegetarians eat fish exists. On a final note if you are going to try vegetarianism, avoid the common pit-fall of cutting out meat & just eating breads/cheeses/pastas/processed foods. A vegetarian diet utilises lots of nuts/seeds/lentils/beans/fruit/veg & breads etc...Show more
