Is the plural of the word "beer" still "beer" or "beers" ?
Norine Lomonte: Beer, still.Cheers!
Jeff Frizzell: beer, but if you use the word informally to imply bottles of beer or glasses of beer, you can use beers, only when you speak ( Like I had a couple of beers).
Asa Soho: Beer is one of those words where it depends on the context of its use to determine whether an S is appropriate or not. Although I know some people that would always add S thinking that the more beer the better. But here are a few examples for you to mull over:Please give me one beer bartender. (singular)(plural but no S)There was so much beer at the party it was crazy! (talking about more than one can or bottle of beer, but no S)After the game John and me drank a few beers. (plural with the S) It all really boils down to context, but if you every use the improper context, you can just blame it on having one too many beerS....Show more
Len Bormes: 99 bottles of beer on the wall 99 bottles of beer take one down pass it around 98 bottles! of beer on the wall 98 bottles of beer...Good question - if I said "I had 5 beers today" Sounds good to me! Cheers!
