amusement parks...?

Granville Stray: I read that amusement parks were commissioned by railway companies at the end of a rail line in order for people to have a reason to keep using train services. The money generated was worth it, apparently. The furthest point to travel in any direction would be the sea, so amusing parks were built there.

Mitchell Pickens: I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking that it's due to the draw of the water - the beach is there, and not to mention that at that point most of your stores were being built there too. I've been to plenty of amusement parks, and it's much better to be at a park near the water than at one that's land-locked. Location, Location, Location!...Show more

Ignacio Imbier: well a lot of ppl loved to hang out at the beach and that was a way to attract families....this also helped jump start the food business...things like the corn dog, cotton candy, hot dogs, taffy and other types of fast food...our technology was getting better so p! pl took advantage of it and they built these huge carny rides on a beach where money would be spent....
