When was the distance on center between front tires made Standard, I know it is the same distance as the rails?

Darcie Peraha: I don't know,but the distance between the license plate holes were made standard some 70 years back. The rail distance was established way before the auto, I think that Europe was different at one time and one of us had to change in order to sell them locomotives!
