Should I transfer to a performing arts school?
answers1: The curriculum at a performing arts school won't be much
different than at any other public school. The required courses will
be the same, but your electives options will be arts-focused, rather
than diverse. And if you've been dancing most of your life, chances
are you won't be challenged by the program at a public school. There
will be both experienced and comparably inexperienced dancers in a
school class, whereas studio classes are tailored to the skill levels
of individual dancers. <br>

Frankly, if you're attending a Catholic school known for its
curriculum, you're getting a far better education than you'll get at
any public school. In my opinion (I attended both Catholic and public
schools), you'd be crazy to sacrifice a private education for
something that seems fun. And having a good GPA from a school with
high standards will impress admissions people more than a good GPA
from a government school, since public schools just have lower
standards. And you certainly don't need to attend a performing arts
school to pursue a dance career. If you do pursue a dance career,
chances are you'll need a good day job to support yourself. Having a
rock-solid education will further your chances of landing gainful
employment, which will enable you to finance your dreams.
